| For the 21st straight year, winners of the Annual International Greeting Card Awards were announced during the National Stationery Show in New York City on May 18, 2009. Considered by many in the industry to be the equivalent of "Oscar" night, the LOUIE Awards were presented in 58 categories at the Capitale in New York City. The 2009 awards drew 800 entries from over 160 U.S. and International publishing companies whose cards were marketed and sold in the United States during the calendar year 2008.
The awards are named after German lithographer Louis Prang who is credited with the birth of the card industry in the United States in 1875. The Louie Award was established 21 years ago to acknowledge creative excellence in the greeting card industry. The judges individually reviewed and carefully scored each card submitted on a 1-10 point scale based on the competition's established criteria: Imagination, Impact, Artistry, Harmony, Sensibility, and Value.
Since starting "Bonair Daydreams" Chrissy has competed in this competition, which has increased the popularity of her cardline. Because of the feelings that each of her cards reflect, the everyday life combined with the inspirational quotes, her work provokes an emotional response. She is currently working on a new series of cards that continue to combine touching experiences, memories, and inspiring quotes.
